Update regarding the escaped panther article from yesterday '**The Beast of Burcough**': Somebody contacted me asking me to remove the article because it might encourage people to go out hunting puss cats. And whilst I'm not a feline fan, and would never intentionally hurt one, I'm sure almost everyone took the article for what it was, a little cat-sized dump of humour that I buried in the flower beds of your minds.
Please don't go out hunting cats. ... See MoreSee Less
Southport Town Deal Board
Still nothing online, not the minutes from the Dec 12th meeting, the same day Kier Group was dropped. New 'builder/developer' expected by spring (note birds singing and blossom), demolition was Kier but not anymore and not commenced.
What is happening with our £37m town deal award and plans for £73m Marine Lake Events Centre?

Damien Moore MP welcomes the Government’s proposed measures to tackle ‘anti-motorist’ road and traffic enforcement schemes across Southport...While I continue to campaign for the reconnection of our Burscough Curves; integrating Southport with Lancashire’s greater transportation and economic corridors, Southport’s residents remain dependent on daily personal car usage to commute, visit, and shop across our constituency.
This is why I’m pleased to pleased to announce the Government’s latest proposed batch of measures to support motorists across Southport by limiting punitive Council schemes, including Low Traffic Neighbourhood’s, aggressive speed limitation, and disruptive street works, including Sefton Councils’ congestive ‘Eastern Access’ Cycle Lane expansion scheme.
I will continue to vociferously petition the Government to invest in reconnecting the Burscough Curves Rail Link, and to prevent Sefton Council from further expanding their dangerous, anti-business Eastern Access Cycle Lane expansion programme - causing further congestion and delays across our town. ...
